Skara Glen Stables' Eretria (Camelot), a 420,000gns Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate, backed up an April Fools' Day debut second at Dundalk with an impressive success in Wednesday's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown.

“She's a smart filly and I thought the last furlong was very impressive,” said Donnacha O'Brien. “She's a lovely filly going forward and I'll give her a little bit of time now. She's only two weeks back from her first run and something like the Naas Oaks Trial could fit in nicely now. She's in the [G1] Irish Oaks and also the [G1] Oaks and we also have the option of something like the [G2] Ribblesdale as well. I actually had it in my head that she might be a mile-and-a-quarter filly, but looking at the way she hit the line against a strong headwind, you'd be thinking that a mile-and-a-half wouldn't be a problem either. We always thought she was pretty good.”

Patiently ridden until gaining forward momentum on the home turn, the 5-2 second favourite hit the front with two furlongs remaining and surged clear under urging in the closing stages to easily outpoint Sangreal (Camelot) by 6 1/2 lengths.

Eretria is the fourth foal and scorer produced by juvenile winner Risen Sun (Shamardal), who is out of a winning half-sister to multiple Group 1-winning sire Desert King (Danehill).

The winner is full to a yearling colt and a half-sister to Listed Redcar Two Year Old Trophy third Desert Safari (Slade Power).
